The AHS Homecoming dinner was attended by more than 1200 alumni and current and former staff members of the Anglican High School on the evening of 23 July 2016 at the main school hall in Anglican High School. We were honoured to have Mr Ng Chee Meng, Minister for Education (Schools), and Senior Minister of State for Transport as our guest of honour.

Highlights of the dinner included the launch of the Anglican High Heritage Trail Mobile Application, the presentation of long service awards for staff and the cake cutting ceremony. The mobile app is a location-based app which features the mission and history of Anglican High School. As part of our Character and Citizenship Education and Sec 1 orientation, all incoming cohorts of Sec 1 students will use this app, together with our school’s History Book, The Soaring Eagle, and our revamped Heritage Centre, to embark on a heritage trail within the campus to learn about the school’s 60 years of heritage and culture.

The long service award recognises staff who have loyally served the school for at least 10 years. Our longest-serving staff is none other than Uncle Hassan, who had faithfully served the school for 56 years.

The 12-kg birthday cake symbolises our 60 years of heritage and legacy. Accompanying our guest-of-honour in the cake-cutting ceremony is our distinguished alumni, Mr Stephen Riady, our school management board chairman, Mr Chan Sui Him, our principal, Mdm Maureen Lee and the Director-General of Education, Mr Wong Siew Hoong.
The dinner was a heartwarming finale to our 60th Anniversary Celebrations. We thank God for His faithfulness and look forward to more reunion dinners to come.
