Humanities Challenge 2014

On 28 February, Anglican High School Humanities Department, in collaboration with PUB organised a Humanities Challenge based on the theme: Water & Energy Resources for Lower Sec students from school in the E4 Cluster.

The objectives of the Humanities Challenge, was to deepen students’ understanding on the importance of water and energy resources and the challenges related to the consumption of water and energy resources in the highly globalised 21st century world.

The quiz was conducted using the game format of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” and the participants had to answer a series of multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions related to the theme. Teams demonstrated great enthusiasm and worked together in their own teams to arrive at their answers.

The event also strengthens our partnership with PUB in enhancing students’ learning and awareness of the water issues in Singapore. At the end of the challenge, student participants and supporters gathered to form a water droplet that will be featured in one PUB corporate video for World Water Week this year.

The team from Dunman High emerged as overall winner with St. Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School and Changkat Changi Secondary school as the first and second runner up respectively.
