AHS Creators’ Programme
The creators’ programme is a three-year integrated programme, where each student goes through minimally 50 hours of computational and design thinking in Anglican High School. Equipping students with technological skills will enable them to have future-ready dispositions and become value-creators.
The Secondary One students experimented through designing, making and programming of drones in May 2019. Drone designing looks at the creative and human-centered application of subjects like Mathematics, Science and Technology, providing an authentic platform for students to problem solve. Research has also shown that drone programming significantly improves students’ learning of spatial visualization and sequencing skills.
Students were exposed to coding using MicroBits in October 2019, providing students brain-gain opportunities in information processing, logic, problem-solving, experimentation and creativity; intangibles that are paramount as Singapore moves towards being a Smart Nation with digital-literate students as the corner-stone.
